Let’s head to the southwestern part of the country for another jaunt through our national parks. There are three national parks in southern California, and the weather is just right for our exploration of all of them. Death Valley? Much better in the winter! The deserts of Joshua Tree are the same. We’ll even head out to sea, to the rarely-visited Channel Islands National Park, where we’ll have our freedom to hike and learn about these lost mountaintops. While we’re so close to the ocean, we’ll also take to the waves in hopes of seeing some whales! These national parks are close to one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country, yet they will feel a world away from it all. If you’ve been doing some California dreaming, then we’ll see you there!
