Though the heyday of rail travel in the United States is long gone, there are still souls among us whose hearts still beat to the steady cadence of the train. Jack Wheeler is our aficionado on all things train and will guide us on a magnificent journey by rail travel. We’ll be taking the Coast Starlight from Los Angeles, California to Portland, Oregon. As we go, we’ll see some train-related items as well as some of the local offerings, like wine, iconic bridges and ocean sunsets. Through it all, Jack will be peppering you with the history and modern expression of train travel. This hard-working fellow will be our very own iron horse, getting us safely and enjoyably to our destination. It’s a journey on the rails, the almost-gone elegance of yesterday and a memorable coastal adventure under the stars. All aboard!
