WALKING TOUR = EASY

Colorado is known for the quintessential mountain animals such as bears, wolves and deer. Our state mammal is the Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep. The state bird is the lark bunting, and our state fish is the greenback cutthroat trout. While we do have a strong wildlife presence, what about the little critters that were introduced to the state? What of the non-native fox squirrel, brought over with early pioneers, or even horses as we know them today? What happened to the grizzly bear? We even have more exotic species living in the state in well-maintained enclosures, such as giraffes, elephants and tapirs. Let’s take a safari through the past and present with an exploration of our Colorado critters, from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science to a special tour at the Denver Zoo, both hosted on the grounds of City Park. It will be a wildly good time!

Starts at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Includes guide interpretation, all admissions and a stop for lunch at your own cost.
